Moving Together's Arts Award programmes give young people aged 7-25 an opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification. The awards provide a creative experience looking at dance both practically and theoretically, developing and facilitating young artists, researchers, choreographers and performers.

Dance workshops are available for mature movers providing an opportunity for participants aged 55+ to engage in an art form that is physically and psychologically stimulating. Sessions contain a variety of dance styles, with the chance to choreograph movement phrases and perform these back.
Music and movement sessions are also available for the elderly in care homes, focusing on chair based activities. Our ‘Moving through the decades’ programme is inspired by a range of popular dance styles and songs from past eras encouraging participants to reminisce.

The over 55's dance class is so much fun! We dance to lively music, make new friends, and get taught by brilliant young teachers. I leave the class feeling under 55!
- Mary, Over 55’s Class
'I really like the Arts Award because it gives us a chance to express what we're feeling!'
- Caitlin, aged 10, Arts Award Explore participant
I enjoyed everything but I really enjoyed making our own bit up. I loved performing on the stage and I love the people that do it with me. I really want to come and do it again
- Macey, age 9 – During a summer dance programme
I haven’t danced in years and absolutely loved being involved in the sessions! Emily and Rachel often asked me if I wanted to lead a game or help a group with the choreography and this really built up my confidence. There was space for me to help lead aspects of the class and I really enjoyed the challenge! Meeting new people and working together towards a performance was so much fun
- Abi, age 17 – Participating in a dance programme at the Y Theatre
